First trip to Europe

So iv just spent pretty much 5 days in the company of my dear friends Your Demise, also joining us was a lovely gentleman named Toffy.

Bad:

Good:
- seeing 5 different countries in 3 days. France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland!
- seeing 2 damn good shows. Germany was small crowd, but good. France show was off the wall!
- Euro mosh
- moshing a hole in the wall of the french venue
- the fit blonde girl
- making friends with an awesome french band called None Shall Be Saved.
- some french girl giving me a kiss in exchange for a YD t-shirt.
- getting out of prison
- amazing night sky and views driving in switzerland
- the german kids moshing at the show
- the french kids going nuts at the show
- perfect clear blue skys and hot weather the whole time

I'm addicted to Heroes. What a show!

I think i have a slight concussion. I got flattened by Dave at Facedown Fest, i was sat on a chair during the Jailbait set, Dave ran headfirst into me and pretty much killed me.

Facedown was one long long fun filled weekend ... with a slight hint of combatfest !
Saturday was good to see By My Hands after 11months! playing Star Wars top trumps with Gav and Grewar was wicked.
Jailbait's first set was amazingly funny. Amazing and amazingly funny.

Stayed with hannah, was very good, we just watched Family Guy for hours.

However arriving at Facedown on sunday it lead to me being the butt of the joke for the day. the "Gary had sex last night" joke (which i didnt), Skinny Jack and Charlotte were telling everyone in the room. Lolz.

I now well like this girl. it is very good.

Might being making that big step soon. Living in London, with Alice. mental.

I love South Park.

I went to the cinema on my own again. It's a bit sad i know, but at least i can dwell in my own thoughts during the trailers (which were all very good today!).
I saw Outlaw, it was good. Sean Bean was wicked in it. The one male actor i have adored since i was small ... since the days of Sharpe! ha

My girl situation has taken a positive turn thanks to Mr Oz. .
It has almost been a year now, so it's about time something good happened for me.
very good indeed.

I might have the chance to move at work, to testing. Means i'll get more experience with testing/programming. It would be nice, but i need to know more about it first.

iv just seen one of my favourite bands 4 times.
I bunked 2 days of work with "food poisoning"
Went to manchester for the very first time.
Had a bash at singing for Your Demise ... it was hilariously awful.
Bought myself a £750 LCD TV.
Im in charge at work once again.
Iv been spying lot of girls with Oz. (not spying on!)

I dont do much at all really.

So yeah, I had my railcard, passport and wallet (inc 2 bank cards, £20 & £15 game gift card) stolen.

taken right out of my bag as i got on the bus outside paddington station.
didnt notice til i had sat down on the bus, put my bag on my lap to find it totally open ... and nowt there but my keys.

luckily the bastard didnt get my train ticket or phone, so i wasnt totally buggared.

totally sucks, but already my mum has cancelled my cards and passport while i was at the show.

im not as annoyed now, im just seeing it as a total inconvenience for the next month. buying a new passport, railcard and such.

But at least at the show i had alot of people there to take my mind off it for a while. Some might see it as an odd choice to still go, but my friends were there and i figured they would help me out in some way. Skinny Jack kindly paid for me to get in, as he was the first person i saw, Vicci bought me a sandwich (as id not eaten) and then later on Bobby & Athena let me have some of their pizza.

But is all done and dusted now. So im getting new cards tomorrow and then just carry on!

I had a mental night

Big Daves flat.
Watch Last Witness play.
Went to a fash house party in Bromley.
LW played again.
Someone snapped the mic cable.
LW got told to stop as the police were coming (apparently).
We said our goodbyes and left.
Went back to Dave's
Got there at 11:45pm
Celebrated.
Partied the night away.
Had a very drunken Athena telling me to get with a certain girl, she repeated this every 20mins.
Partied til almost 5am
Slept for around 4 hours.
Then went home.
Sat next to the first attractive girl iv seen this year!
What a night.

But looking back, 2006 was ok.

What brought it down:
-Break up
-Getting over it
-Arguing quite alot
-Being a total dick to one person
-Breaking my hand
-Closest friends changing alot
-2% payrise

What kept it good:
-The insane amount of new friends iv made
-Going to shows almost every week

So yeah, it has come to my attention recently that being single is nothing anymore. It doesnt bother me in the slightest. I'v come a long way from telling myself 'oh man i have to be with someone else to get over Jo'. That attitude has just faded away.

It is because of all those people i listed before and all the crazy shit we get up to on a weekly basis. Iv realised since about August iv actually been having the time of my life! Iv been all over the country, iv been on tour, iv made new friends, iv become even better friends with some people, iv been to countless shows and it all just adds up to a great time.

I dont need anyone there for me, to look after me, to take care of me emotinally .... why because there is nothing to care about. Im on a "life-high" right now amd its good, iv not needed that 'special someone' to have a good time or to make things worthwhile. Singledom isnt all that bad as long as you keep yourself busy.

Yeah of course there are things i miss about not having someone, but nothing too much to worry about.

But for know ill just sit back, continue on my ways of enjoyment and wait to see what turns up.
well ... there is one girl i have eyes for, but only time will tell on that one.

Iv just got home from a day at Persistence and then the last 20mins of New Found Glory .... so im on a posi note.

Another year another 2 days of the hardcore fun at the underworld.

I'll keep it brief.

Saturday:
Up at 6am, worked til 10:30am then off to London. Chilled outside for ages with all the crew and the basingstoke lot.
Pissed down with rain while we queued.

Bands of the day:
Bulldoze - Tough as fuck
Down To Nothing - best set ever, total chaos
Taking Names - sam & simons last show, best time iv ever seen them
TRC - rowdy
Burning Scars of Betrayal - scottish and rowdy
Dirty Money - fun

Stayed with George YD and Vicky, this was interesting. I watched Norwigen black metal documentaries, listened to vivaldi and For My Anger, rolled a can around, heard George do a poo, watched Crystal Maze and more random stuff before FINALLY sleeping at about 3:30am.

Sunday:

Sunday was so much better than saturday. Was so good to spend so much time with so so many of my friends. Made the weekend even better.
I had a distro shopping spree and left with 6 new cds and a Taken By Force tshirt.
I also left with a nice little blackeye thanks to someone smacking me in the face during Death Threat.

I also seemed to have an odd situation involving a girl, a potentially dangerous one, but i cant work it out. So ill just see how she acts next time shes around me, then see what happens.

Now roll on more hardcore times and fun things ...

Another wicked weekend of shows and friends.

Friday:
Went into London (yeah i went out, to london! talk about breaking the cycle!), met up with Sykes, Dangerous Dave, Nat & Charlotte. We first hit the crobar, messed around, then Jack Z6 showed up and shit got rowdy! It got even rowdier once Theo, Bobby, Jamie RTD and Louise? showed up! We pretty much sat around getting loud and singing along to the shit jukebox.
At 11pm we bopped over the the Mean Fiddler for ROCK! It was hilarious. More people showed up there, Skinny Jack, Athena, Alice, Nino and Nick BTS. Most of the night was a tad boring, in the same room listening to death metal. But there were moments, like Jack moshing to Six ft Ditch without a care for anyone around, Jack being kissed by a fat metal bird, laughing at 'randoms' dancing to metal, watching 1PW on the big screen, going downstairs and singing along to Killswitch and 36 Crazyfists. We departed at about 2:30am and had to get the nightbus back to Croydon ... interesting experience. I stayed at Sykes house, we were making Last Witness demos til 6am! then finally slept! ... i had been awake for 23hrs..

Saturday:
Was rudely awoken by Sykes mum and sister arguing about some crap. Woke sykes up, as we had under an hour before we had to pick bobby up. Picked up Bobby, met all the others at Purley station then trekked up to The Dome for the Last Witness/Awoken show. On the tube, bobby was telling us about some girl at college he argues with about religion, we all laughed alot and made some jokes, next thing i know i see the women stood next to us reading the bible! So we all break down laughing then proceed to say even more/worse things ... she got off the train very quickly at the next stop.
When the got there we just hung about, ate chicken, ate cakes, laughed at the jailbait scene LW fans and even more jokes with Gav and Lauren when they showed up! Lauren was amazing ... but it has come to my attention she might digs girls ... if you get me. oh well.
The first bands were so shit i wont even say anything. Last Witness were fun as always, all kicked off big time. Didnt watch Break The Sky as i was outside joking about with Gav, Lauren and Jack. Awoken was the usual mosh mosh mosh sing a bit mosh fun.
After the show we all hung round for the club ... it was pretty whack, about 10 of us just sat round a table listening to metalcore ... we all left after an hour.
Once again back on the buses, this time carrying a guitar head ... not fun. Night bus back to Croydon again .... even worse on a saturday night! Got to sleep at a more reasonable 4am after much driving around Croydon listening to the Dirty Money Demo full blast!

Sunday:
Best day of them all!
So we're getting ready for the Necrophagist/Suicide Silence show. We find out that By My Hands had pulled out!! this was gutting as they were the reason most of us were going. So sykes jokes about trying to get on the show .... 5 mins later he gets a call from Simon saying they were playing!! So from there it was a MAD rush to get to the underworld in time. Got there at 4, i got hooked up with a wristband thanks to Nat. The show was FRUIT CENTRAL!
Last Witness opened the show with a bang, pretty much all the Zone 6 crew out in force going nuts ! Was amazing. Then Burn Down Rome followed up with another amazing set ! They bust out the November Coming Fire cover which caused a large number of us to attack Jake on stage! Good times.
Then came Azriel who were brilliant, first time id seen them. They played thier set, then suddenly decided to play one more ... especially for Gav. oh yes ... it was a Poison The Well cover. The place went beserk. I remember being on stage with Lauren and about 10 other peopel for ages just singing away. Then came the moment the day changed .... i lept into the crowd, only to have a bad landing and land on my lower back, it didnt hurt at the time, but after the set i had trouble walking and massive pain in my right leg, not good. After the set too i saw Gav and Lauren, like me Gav had a MASSIVE grin on his face ... then Lauren lept at me threw her arms round me screaming "oh ma god they played it!, i fucking love you negi gary!". ha
Rest of the day was spent limping about the Underworld, chatting to people, eating Vegan Thai, sweating, laughing at fashs, chillin backstage and being metal.
Suicide Silence were damn good again. Stood to the side and just watched everyone i know stagedive/headwalk the front rows to death. Jack went off a few times then came back with a massive gash under his eye! im not sure how but it was well metal ... he loved it.
I left after SS, limped my way out with Myke & Zoe and off home i went.

A mad mad weekend. i loved every minute of it!
Repeat it all again for Ninjafest this weekend!!!!

Im 20.
I have no idea what im doing in life.
I actually do not have a positive outlook for myself.

Me and Nick keep bringing up moving to London together once he gets a job.
I like the sound of it, would be rather nice to be nearer alot more of my friends, a new area and something that i should do as im getting older.
I think id learn to drive first, save up a fuckload of money and finish my IPC training so i could quite easily get another job in electronics.
It is something i would look to pursuing.
As a plan B i would consider moving to the other end of Reading near Ian, Ocky & Scott at house RDN. Just to get out and do my own thing for once. I earn enough money to do it and iv got enough friends. Certainly a thought to keep in mind.

Maybe it is time to "spread my wings"

JK just told me to move to swindon ..... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Outbreak was shit.
I was so ill it wasnt even funny.
It was impossible to enjoy it.
Then had to pay out £80 aswell.
Promoting will be on a long pause now, til face has its own PA.
Then ill get back into the swing on things on my own as John has buggared off now. Well i know ill have a bit of help from the willing people.

I saw 36 Crazyfists & Atreyu on friday night.
It was such a fun night.
Didnt plan on staying for Atreyu, but i did and they played Deanne The Arsonist .... amazing!!
Myke almost got into a fight with some wasted guy that was shouting at him "im from bixton blud! im gonna make you blind"
So many greebos it was hilarious.

I cant stop listening to Billy Talent. It's wicked.

I could well do with a lady. Not even a proper girlfriend, just a girl to have a good time with, go out have a laugh with. Give me a chance to focus some positive attention to someone once again. But as Jen has been saying "look and you wont find", i pretty much agree there, so guess ill just sit back and see what shows up for a while.

I want to go on more travels. Distant alldayers, distant shows, festivals or even more tours.
Hopefully the chance of some euro YD dates. That would be amazing.
I could do with the positive experience.

I well like hardcore. It's not really a surprise, but i just like everything surrounding it. Its been good for me this year, kept me from ending up in a worse place.

Stress.
Overworked.
Worn Out.
Heading for an early grave.

Alldayer went amazingly well.
All bands were great (cept the first one)
All the people were great.
Made enough money, plus a tiny bit extra for the Outbreak show.
A good day indeed.

Really sucks that so so many people bitch about there not being a scene here or that nothing goes on. We've put on 3 shows now, 2 MASSIVE ones ... and its been the same few Reading people there each time. Couldnt have been more than 10 local kids at them.
So many people travelled down on sunday it was amazing! a girl even came all the way from essex for it!

Outbreak show is tomorrow, so we'll see if people actually make an effort for this one.

As for tomorrow, its going to be the most stressful thing ever. Im not looking forward to it at all.
Once John is gone, most of the promoting will come down to me, so im not sure how much ill carry it on.

Im feeling so dead these days. Iv run myself down so much, i wish id listened to Jo (the other one). Im always tired, i nod off on the bus everyday, i dont sleep enough, i run myself down at shows too much, i still have this real bad cough, i feel like passing out at work sometimes and just generally dont feel up for anything.
This cannot be good.
As iv been told, could i be seeing the hospital soon if i carry on ... lets hope not.

A loooonggg weekend. A good one at that.

Friday:
Went to work and all that bollocks.
Then went straight from work to Croydon to see Last Witness/Break The Sky/FFS
Got a lift to the venue with Sykes, then just hung about for ages eating dirty chicken.
Show was pretty wicked, the LW set went out to Me and dinosaurs?
After the show few of us (me, theo, sykes, bobby, ash and simon) drove round croydon being lads really, playing football in car parks and hurling abuse at people from car windows. We ended up in a tesco car park, after a while we saw flashes, at first we though it was a the speed cameras nearby and forgot about it. Then bobby noticed it was a man at his window taking pictures of us all! so he threw a pork pie at him. We then drove round to where his house was and were going to cause some trouble .... but were deterred by CCTV. After that we all went home, i stayed at Sykes place.

Saturday:
Major voyage to Essexfest!
Picked up Theo and Bobby, left Bobby's at 10:30am .... got to Southend Seafront at about 1:30pm.
Essex was oddly ALOT NICER than we all expected and we were all amazed to find out that the old 3 swords is the actual essex logo!! Show was long and a laugh.

On the break we all went out along the beach. Took a little funny crew photo with a few of the lads.
Slowly the nightlife began to appear .... seafront was full of lads, boy racers, modded cars and ..... slags (no surprise).
Left after YD with Saggs, Jack, Gav and Charlotte. Mental train ride home with 2 wasted stoke city fans! Funny as hell at times. Once gone me and charlotte sat on the tube talking about how amazing Star Wars is .... as you do.
I finally made it home at 12:30 !!

Sunday:
After a MASSIVE sleep. I got up and bopped over to the Face bar to see Insurgent again.
There was about 30 people there. Worst most pathetic show i have EVER been to. I blame lazy promotion.
It Never Rains .. .first show. were ok.
Blue Spring are still gay.
Insurgent was just a laugh ... was only me and gav there for them. They did an until the end cover ..... thus causing me to go FUCKING MENTAL. Awesome stuff. Then i left after that. Fun show in the end!

now to play the Saints Row demo .....

This has been a pretty wicked week.

Monday - Realised iv been at my job for exactly a year now!
Tuesday - Went to see Agnostic Front/First Blood/Awoken
Awoken smashed it. Album release show, was pack out with kids going NUTS!
First Blood was just violence. Place went crazy, loads of clashes with the macho foreign punks. Got kicked in the head during a pileon by the merch guy. Kicked Ash in the face ... just went mental really. FB were amazingly impressive!
Left 3 songs into AF.
Wednesday - was shit. a goodbye. sad times. nuff said.
Thursday - nothing.... a pause really.
Friday - 20th BIRTHDAY! finally no longer a teen! Got a few presents and some wicked cards. Hand made ones from some friends ... but not just birthday cards, along side the 'happy birthday' messages, iv got people telling me how much of a good friend i am and how much i mean to them. an extra pick up that i needed really :)
Trekked down to Guildford to see Viatrophy, total fash show, lots of silly drunken girls. Venue was tiny and boiling. Just did what i usually do for viatrophy. Always fun.
Saturday - Hung about in town with Ian. Then went back to guildford once again for Awoken. Less of a crowd. Some of the basingstoke QMC guys came down. We just sat around outside pissing about and joking through ALL the shit scene metal support bands. Then just went nuts when Awoken played. Got a late birthday shoutout, smacks on the head and asked if i was 'posi gary' tonight. Great night.

All in all a wicked week, little downer but still im in good spirits now.

Another pretty wicked weekend it seems.

Thursday was another show. Clone The Fragile/Eternal Lord/Everette/Your Demise
No point in meantioning the first band ...
Your Demise were ace ... Down To Nothing cover safe! George being a total comedian and chair mosh!
didnt even watch everette ... bummed about outside with george and sykes eating ice cream.
Eternal Lord were average ... broke some equipment and had to stop
Clone The Fragile were brilliant, best set ever! Good old shattered realm cover to fuck it up a bit more!

Friday (last night) was Sykes 18th birthday party. Diction, Your Demise, Last Witness and Worker & Parasite. Missioned it all the way out to croydon! Was one of the first people there, slowly more and more people i knew showed up. Dave and skinny jack made me eat Haribo ... i got well hyper. W&P were wicked ... total thrash attack! Last Witness were really good for thier first show! Raiden cover smashed it! Your Demise was once again George being a comedy legend ... with an added Hope Con cover and singing about me. Finally Diction finished it off with one of the best sets iv seen! Was a brilliant night! Hanging down in the CR0 ends with my boys. George decided it would be funny to spit water all over me ..... over and over again. It was a bit nasty, but i saw the funny side of it. Me and george also decided to go hate edge graffing one night around St. Albans!
After the show, i make the journey back to Tonbridge with Myke and stayed at his house. We slept for AGES! it was wicked!

And today was just a loooong journey home. pissed off that my phone screen is smashed and that my iPod headphones are squashed too! but oh well. I was in for an hour before ringing Nick and ending up going out for a few hours. Nothing too exciting just a chance to see mates.

now its all about the final week countdown til the big 20!

Yesterday was wicked.

I had a day off work.
Zoe, Jess, Dan and Myles drove up to Reading to come and see me!

They showed up at my house, after passing it, we then trekked into town and met up with Nick.
Went and laughed at Ian at his work.
Had KFC for Lunch (well Zoe didnt, damn veggie)
Had Shakeaway.
Then we pretty much just sat about in the forbury and enjoyed the sun.
It was lovely.
There was a crazy man doing Tai-Chi.
At one point we ran around ... for no real reason.

It was nice to have people come to see me for once. Sure we didnt do much, but it was just nice to see that my friends are willing to make the effort for me.
I hope more people do it more often.

Thursday i went to The Dome and saw Age of Kahli, Out of Hand, TRC and No Turning Back (missed Justice and Cold World)
Was an alright night. too many youth crew kids. lots of fitties. Gemma asking a girl what her middle name was for me ... embarassing (to see if it was Jo). Ninjafest line-up ... BULLDOZE !!!! OH SHIT!!
Show was over-run so i left early. At least i got myself out of the house.

Now im going to see TRC again tonight, then i'll probably waste my life on XboxLive til the early hours and for most of tomorrow aswell.

A MEGA weekend!

To start ...

Friday i trekked into London to go to Emily's prom. I had my good suit all prepped, met Emily and went back to hers, got changed then off we went ... 30 mins late. Had a long very hot tube journey out to oakwood. The prom was at some flashy golf course in a private bar/function room. It was TOO HOT!!! Got asked loads of times if i was Emily's boyfriend ... and Emily got asked the same thing even more. Met a few of emily's friends .... she hated most people there, but some of them were friends! A large part of the night was spent dancing like spazz's to 90's cheesey music. Emily's friend Poppy danced with me .... quite alot. She didnt leave me alone for quite a while .... get in! Emily even danced with some fat kid just to keep him away from poppy ! I blew it though .... oh well. After a few hours there we got a taxi down to camden town and went to Sin City. Sin City in one word .... jokes. We were still in our prom gear, as we got to the door, the bouncer looked at us both and said "you know the music that is played here, yeah?" ... we simply laughed and said yes. Club was funny, saw a few people i kinda knew. we got alot of smiles and odd looks. Ran into Skinny Jack, which is always a laugh! We went back to Emily's at about 2:30 ... i think. Went to bed ..... but it was too hot and we couldnt sleep. i dont think we slept til about 5 !

Managed to get up on saturday, lazed about in the heat. Eventually left emily's at about 3pm! Journey round camden ... then back to central to hit up Forbidden Planet!!! We also somehow managed to stumble upon a gay pride festival in soho park :|
Met up with Matt and Sammy breifly. Eventually went back to emily's, picked up my suit and made my way home. Had a very lazy lazy night.

Sunday i met up with Sykes in london and we hit up Subverse to see Enter Shikari!!
We shopped around a bit for a while, seeing as there was a huge queue and it was too hot to stand around.
We eventually went in ... LOL'd at the shit bands. LOL'd at the 15yr old scene girls. Mostly just made lots of jokes about everyone we saw there. Was very hot, humid and sweaty in the underworld ... never good. Eventually Enter Shikari played and were amazing ... so random, but so good. We just danced about and sang along ... good times.

and yesterday was yet another work day. had a training course ... which i pretty much aced. I done so well on a course iv never even known of .... that i have taken on the nickname "Rainman" in the workshop. Last night i went into London for Viatrophy's first ever London show! upstrairs at the garage. Support bands were alright, usual metalcore with beatdown stuff, Norma Jean cover thrown in for good measure. Viatrophy ended up headlining! the majority of people stayed round for them too!! Needless to say that Ian and myself did the usual business. Major beef between Rich and the french bouncer ... could have been very nasty with one wrong move from the bouncer. He was trying to kick Rich out ... whilst surrounded by a crowd of people. All in all was a good night!! Got a lift home with June, Ian and Louise. We shouted at people in london, threw jelly tots at people at bus stops and made love heart symbols at girls in taxis.

What a weekend!
